Child and Adolescent Counseling

Child/Adolescent CounselingOffered to persons ages 3-17, these services take into consideration the developmental stage of the child or teen. When a young person is receiving services, often the parents or legal guardians are involved as a means to help the child achieve the goals set during the initial sessions.

Counseling for young children incorporates play and other activities since play is the natural way children understand the world around them. Play is the medium children use to process and make sense of things. It can be a useful tool to assist the child in resolving concerns. Older children and teens receive “talk” therapy with activities intertwined as needed.
